Be one of the first to explore Williamson County’s newest parkland, the Williams Tract, on Saturday, April 10. The undeveloped property is more than 1,000 acres of meadowlands, wetlands and hills located between Leander and Liberty Hill off CR 282. Visitors can review the park’s conceptual master plan which includes future hiking trails, campgrounds, equestrian trails, and a visitor/heritage center.
Hike along 1K, 3K and 5K trails with park staff, native plant guides and Audubon Society members between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Trail Photo Shoot-Out hikes start at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
An equestrian trail ride will start promptly at 10:30 a.m. Riders must bring their own horses and be at the park by 10 a.m. Please call to reserve your spot at 512-260-4283. No late riders will be accepted.
To reach the park, take SH 29 west to Liberty Hill and turn left on RR 1869. Then turn left on CR 282 and the park is on the left just south of CR 284. For location map, go to www.wilco.org to Parks Department or call 512-260-4283 for more information.
