    The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is planning a special Valentine’s “Pawty” and promotion for pet adoptions during the week of February 12 to 18.  The “Adopt Your Forever Companion” program is offering reduced pet adoptions to encourage pet lovers to add a special new member to their families at this customarily amorous time.  
    On Saturday, January 28, a special Yappy Valentine’s Day photo session will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for shelter visitors and their pets.  Valentine photo packages will be offered by PawPrints Photography, with a portion of the proceeds to benefit the WCRAS medical fund.  
    Beginning Sunday, February 12 through Saturday, February 18, the regular adoption fee of $75 will be reduced to $25 and covers basic vaccines, spay/neuter surgeries, and a microchip.  In addition, it will include heartworm screening for dogs and FeLV testing for cats.  Of special note, all adoptions on Valentine’s Day, February 14, will be just $14 from 2 to 6 p.m.
    Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is located at 1855 S.E. Inner Loop in Georgetown, on the north side of the road just east of FM 1460.  Regular shelter hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.   To reach the shelter from IH-35, take Exit 259 and go east two miles.  For further questions please contact the Williamson County Animal Shelter at 512-943-3597.
