Holiday Pet Safety Advisory Reminder

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter officials remind area residents that even non-incendiary fireworks may cause sudden and unexpected sounds that may startle pets. Outdoor concerts with excessively loud music and large crowds as well as anticipated heat advisories are other good reasons to leave pets at home when possible. Shelters recognize this time of the year as a high intake period for stray animals. If your pet is missing, always check area shelters immediately and repeatedly. As an extra caution, be sure their tags are current and pets have micro-chip identification, available at most local veterinarians.
