Back to School Movie Night at the Courthouse
Celebrate going back to school with a "Back to the Future" movie night on the courthouse lawn on Friday, August 19. The movie will start at dusk, on the east side of the courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown. Bring your own snacks, blankets or lawn chairs to enjoy the show!

Coffee and Iced Tea with the Commissioner on August 17
Precinct 1 Commissioner Lisa Birkman invites the public to review the upcoming county budget at the J.B. and Hallie Jester Williamson County Annex, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17. During the come and go event, attendees will be able to meet artists from the Round Rock Area Arts Council whose works are currently on display in the Annex. Complimentary coffee, iced tea, and light refreshments will be served.
Veterans Services Moves to Georgetown
The Williamson County Veterans Services Office will be moving to Georgetown from Taylor. The new office will be located in the Williamson County Central Maintenance Facility, 3151 S.E. Inner Loop, Suite C, beginning August 1.

Public Input Sought on New Park Plan
Williamson County is seeking public input regarding the creation of a conceptual master plan for 348 acres of park land in eastern Williamson County. More information on the park can be obtained on Baker–Aicklen’s Byers Tract blog at www.byerstractpark.blogspot.com. Comments also will be collected on the park website at http://parks.wilcogov.org/. Public Safety Symposium to be held August 3 to 5
Williamson County will be hosting a Public Safety Symposium on August 3 through 5, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The symposium is free to all public safety personnel. Teddy Bear Donations Sought
In honor of National Suicide Prevention Week (September 4 - 10, 2011), Williamson County will host a ceremony on Tuesday, September 6, at 9 a.m. on the south steps of the historic courthouse, 710 S. Main Street, Georgetown. Individuals can donate a new teddy bear for this ceremony by dropping bears off at any Williamson Emergency Medical Service (EMS) station from August 15 to 26.
Save the Date for the Courthouse 100th Anniversary Celebration
Plans are under way for the Courthouse 100th Anniversary Celebration to be held at the historic courthouse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011. To foster county-wide participation, the event will honor any person, business or farm having already achieved its 100th anniversary. Highlighting the celebration will be performances from various groups and cultures representative of Williamson County.
