County Closed for Presidents Day Holiday

On Monday, February 20, Williamson County offices will be closed for Presidents Day.  All county operations will resume regular business hours on Tuesday, February 21, 2012. 

”Adopt Your Forever Companion” Events at WCRAS

The “Adopt Your Forever Companion” program encourages pet lovers to visit the shelter in person or click here to view the current pets available for adoption.  Adoption fees have been reduced to only $25 through February 18.  On A-Cat-emy Award Sunday, February 26, all cats will be available at NO COST from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.  A special Leap Day promotion offers $29 adoption rates on Wednesday, February 29, from 12 to 6 p.m. 

Texas Severe Weather Awareness Week is February 19 to 25

Texas Governor Rick Perry has declared the week of February 19 to 25 as Texas Severe Weather Awareness Week in an effort to make sure Texans understand severe weather and have an emergency plan in place.  All residents are encouraged to prepare, plan, and stay informed.  For more information, visit www.ready.gov.

5k at Berry Springs Park and Preserve February 18

Car Seat Safety Inspection Day is February 23

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services will be conducting a car seat safety event by appointment for area residents on Thursday, February 23, from 1 to 3:30 p.m.  The safety seat check, sponsored by Texans In Motion at Scott & White Healthcare, will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taylor, located at 2800 North Drive.  Please call 512-352-3910 to schedule an appointment.  More…

2012 Outstanding Warrant Roundup is February 25

The 2012 Great Texas Warrant Roundup will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2012.  The warrant roundup is a statewide initiative with several police agencies participating, including all four Williamson County constables’ offices.  Deputies will be visiting people who have warrants at their residence or at their place of employment.  Anyone with outstanding warrants is encouraged to take care of those warrants before February 25, 2012.   More…

March 3: Save the Date for the Georgetown Swirl

The Historic Williamson County Courthouse will be a “swirl” with excitement on Saturday, March 3, for the Georgetown Swirl! All event proceeds benefit the Georgetown Main Street Facade & Sign Grant Program. Tickets are available online at http://swirl.georgetown.org. Shoppers also can buy opportunities to win several groupings of favorite wines by purchasing Swirl Wine Auction tickets the night of the event or in advance at the Williamson Museum, 716 S. Austin Ave., for $5 each or 5/$20. Wine auction proceeds benefit the Main Street Facade & Sign Grant Program and the Williamson Museum.
