Williamson County Ranks First in Health Outcomes

The County Health Rankings—the first set of reports to rank the overall health of every county in all 50 states—were released today by the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation at a briefing in Washington, D.C. Trail Setter 5K and Kids Fun Run Set for Sunday, March 7

Trail Setter race is a family-friendly, concrete trail race open to runners and walkers, young and old, for fun and a great cause. This race is celebrating the 1st Anniversary of the Brushy Creek Regional Trail beginning at Twin Lakes Family YMCA ending at Brushy Creek Park. Williamson County Tax Offices Close for Training

Due to scheduled training days, the Williamson County tax offices will close to the public on the following schedule: Round Rock office – Tuesday, March 9; Georgetown office – Wednesday, March 10; Taylor and Cedar Park offices – Thursday, March 11.  Vehicle renewals may be completed online or, in person, at most area HEB stores. We apologize for any inconvenience.  More…

CAMPO Seeks Area Residents Planning Input

“Take 10” for the 2010 Census

The 2010 Census questionnaire is one of the shortest in history-just 10 questions that only take about 10 minutes to complete. The challenge is out to improve upon the 72% nation-wide mail back response in 2000. We hope we can count on you to participate in the 2010 Census between March 15 and April 15, 2010. Open House for SH-195

On Thursday, March 25, 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct an open house to present the current design for improvements to SH195 in Williamson County, Texas and to solicit public comment. The open house will be held at the Florence Middle School, 12551 Hwy 195 South, in the school’s cafeteria, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Victim Assistance Garage Sale to Benefit Crime Victims

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Victim Assistance Unit is gearing up for its second annual garage sale fundraiser. The garage sale benefits crime victims in Williamson County. The garage sale will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 508 South Rock Street in Georgetown, TX.  More…

Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up Day is March 27

Williamson County and Cedar Park have set Saturday, March 27, as Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Clean Up Day. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the parking lot at Austin Community College at 1555 Cypress Creek Road, Cedar Park, will be the collection point for area residents to dispose of various household items at no charge. 

Hot Check Warrant Round Up

Members of local, county, and state law enforcement agencies, in conjunction with the Williamson County Attorney’s Office and Williamson County Crime Stoppers, will begin conducting Operation No Foolin’ on March 6. The operation is an effort to apprehend persons wanted for both Felony and Misdemeanor Theft by Check.   More…

Partners Across Texas Showcase for Veterans and Families

Take a Hike or Ride a Trail at Williams Tract

On Saturday, April 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can be one of the first to preview the conceptual master plan for the hiking trails, campgrounds, equestrian trails and visitor/heritage center coming to Williams Tract, our newest 1000-acre park. Call 512-260-4283 to reserve a spot for equestrian rides and guided trail photo shoots that begin at 10:30 a.m. 1K, 3K and 5K hikes will be offered by park staff, native plant guides and Audubon Society members.
