Road Closures

Low Water Crossing at Donahoe Creek on CR 384:

After the major flooding in May of 2015:

  • Williamson County requested disaster recovery funds from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the repair of the closed low water crossing.
  • In the Spring of 2016, FEMA finalized the assessment of the damage to the CR 384 low water crossing, and Williamson County has received the funding to repair the low water crossing.
    • Obtaining funding is a very long process that involves assessing not only this crossing, but funding for other crossings throughout the County.
  • The Commissioner’s Court approved advertising for a consulting engineering firm to begin design of repairs for the damaged crossings.
  • After reviewing the qualifications of each engineering firm, the Engineering firm most qualified to design the most appropriate engineering solution is expected to be finalized by November, 2016.
  • For frequently occurring storm events, the proposed CR 384 low water crossing design will reduce the amount of water overtopping the roadway than the previous design.
  • Construction of the proposed CR 384 low water crossing is expected to be completed by Summer of 2017.

Williamson County Road and Bridge Division is dedicated to maintaining the County’s roadway infrastructure using the most appropriate engineering solution in a cost effective manner.  We greatly appreciate your continued support and interest in the developments of this project, and thank you for your patience.

Message boards will be used to notify the traveling public in the immediate area. On Monday, May 16, through Thursday, May 19, the road will be closed in order to set all bridge panels that will be over traffic. Thursday, May 26, the road will be closed to set overhang jacks for the bridge.
