In Texas, citizens do not register by political party, but simply register in their county of current residence. A registration application may be submitted to the County Voter Registrar, P.O. Box 209, Georgetown, TX 78627, or delivered to the office at 301 S.E. Inner Loop, Ste. 104, Georgetown, Texas. There is a 30-day waiting period before a registration becomes effective for any election.

To receive a Voter Registration Application, you may:

Note to those who renew their driver's license on the Texas Department of Public Safety website, DPS provides a link to update your voter registration application be aware you must complete the form, PRINT and mail it in.

Change of address

If you are currently registered to vote in Williamson County, and have moved within the county, please make sure to update your voter registration, you can do so online here.

Another way to make a change is to use the space on the back of your Williamson County Voter Registration Certificate to indicate change(s).
If you do not have your voter registration certificate, you can send us a letter indicating the change.

Or you may complete a voter registration application with your new information and check the "Change" box above the citizenship question.  Mail or hand deliver your changes to the addresses above. Information cannot be accepted via email or fax.

Misplaced/Lost Registration Certificate

If you’ve lost your Voter Registration Certificate you can still vote using a Texas Driver’s License or other valid form of ID as long as you are currently registered in Williamson County.

1. a driver's license or personal identification card issued to you by the Department of Public Safety or a similar document issued to you by an agency of another state, regardless of whether the license or card has expired;
2. a form of identification containing your photograph that establishes your identity;
3. a birth certificate or other document confirming birth that is admissible in a court of law and establishes your identity;
4. United States citizenship papers issued to you;
5. a United States passport issued to you;
6. official mail addressed to you, by name, from a governmental entity;
7. a copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address; or
8. any other form of identification prescribed by the secretary of state.

New Voter Registration cards will be mailed out to all Williamson County registered voters soon. Here is a diagram and some important information about your new certificate:


1.       VUID – This is your 10-digit statewide Voter Unique Identification Number issued by the Secretary of State’s office. This number remains the same as long as you are a registered voter in the State of Texas regardless of the County in which you reside or if you move from one County in Texas to another. 

2.       Precinct No. – Your precinct is based upon your residence address and determines your Election Day polling location.

3.       Valid beginning January 1, 2012 and expiring December 31, 2013. Upon expiration, new certificates are automatically mailed to voters with active registrations.

4.       Residence Address – Your name and address of residence as provided when you registered to vote. Your precinct is based upon this address.

5.       Please sign your certificate upon receipt.

6.       When voting in a primary election, you must state the party you would like to receive a ballot from. Your selection will then be indicated in this space. This also helps ensure you will receive a ballot from the same party should a runoff election be required. If you did not vote in the initial primary but would like to vote in a subsequent runoff, you will be able to make your party selection at that time.  

7.       These are the districts in which you reside.

• US Rep = United States Congress
• State Senate and State Rep = Texas Legislature
• Co. Comm = County Commissioner Precinct
• J.P. =  Justice of the Peace District

8.       Mailing Address – Address provided by you to our office indicating where you wish to receive your mail. This address is not used in determining your precincts or in which races you will be eligible to vote.

BARCODE  #1 – This is an external tracking number  for mailing purposes.

BARCODE #2 – This is an internal tracking number which should be scanned by poll workers when  presented at a polling location to check-in voters.
